The white-violets won their first match of the 2008/2009 pre-season campaign, against a squad composed of local Hungarian third and fourth league players. The goals were scored by Magera, Luchin, Sretenovic, Mansour x3, Axente x2 and an own-goal provoked by Axente. You can watch the goals here.
Poli (first half): Taborda - Badoi, Brezinsky, Luchin, Latovlevici - Abiodun, Alexa, Da Costa, Vrsic - Bucur, Magera.
Poli (second half): Zimmermann - Stancu, Sretenovic, Brezinsky, Milhazes - Abiodun, Borbely, Garcia, Arm. Karamyan - Mansour, Magera.
Axente, Rațiu and Popovici were also sent on in the second half to replace Magera, Brezinsky and Abiodun.
